Each image gets an A4 page in whichever orientation wastes less paper — a tall photo gets portrait, a wide one gets landscape. The image is scaled to fit inside your margin and centred, and the aspect ratio is never distorted to fill the page.
The PDF is assembled in your browser using pdf-lib, which is MIT-licensed. There is no server involved, which is why there is no file-size limit beyond your own device and why the tool is free.
